This installation required the gallery wall to be painted. Then each piece was added to the wall using piano wire. I developed a fabric painting technique that created a blood cell/polka dot effect and used this to create a life-size version of a skin cross-section image like you might find in a science textbook.
Because I used repurposed dresses and scarves, I had to paint the fabric in pieces. I stretched the fabric on a frame just like I would for silk painting.
During the development process, I painted my entire studio in shades of skin color to test configurations of the elements.
